Aeropark Developments
Durakerb use has now exceeded 400,000 units thanks to companies such as Aeropark Developments Ltd. The WYG Farm Housing Project is a typical example of innovation in design and construction where the impact to workers and the environment has been considerably reduced by installing Durakerbs. Aeropark Developments Ltd have already installed over 1000mtrs of Durakerb with more due for delivery in the next few months. Durakerb has been installed along the temporary access to site and when the project completes, units can be recovered, re-used or returned to us for re-processing. By using Durakerb in place of traditional concrete kerbstones, Aeropark Developments are already able to demonstrate a saving of over 30,676kg of carbon while creating a use and fixed destination for over 182,000 plastic bottles, caps & closures

Costa Rotherham
Just off the M1 near Rotherham is this small project where Duradrain was used to drain the car park and the drive thru lane of a new Costa Coffee at Catscliffe. Our stockist partner Hauraton have a long-standing relationship with the contractor, H & M Construction, and so when they put forward the Duradrain Recycled Polymer system it was an easy choice to make. The product was approved by the consulting engineers, JPG at Leeds and the specification was changed to suit. Duradrain half battered was installed to a 125mm kerb upstand. As a low carbon system with a high recycled polymer content, Duradrain provided a sustainable system of surface water drainage. Combined kerb and drainage systems are an efficient and safe method for draining surfaces quickly with multiple entry across the whole kerb-line. This can also allow for simpler level design with collected flows compounding to outlet hidden within the kerb-channel body.

Auckley – Doncaster Highways
Managing risk is a key performance measure for Doncaster Highways and a process applied consistently from initial design and operations through to ongoing asset management. For infrastructure and civil engineering specifically, there are already known and identified risks to the health and wellbeing of workers relating to traditional methods of construction. There are also new targets set by governments aimed at reducing the environmental risk, as well as the usual risks to manage that are associated with general highway design. When you also consider the cost restraints within the public sector it is quite a challenge for local authorities. This project is a typical example of how Dura products and systems can contribute to reducing risk at every stage of construction providing a more environmentally sustainable, easier to handle, safe and simple method of highway drainage that removes run-off quickly and efficiently as soon as it hits the kerb-line. Supplied by our Distributor Polycon Ltd, the material cost and installation proved to be comparable/competitive with mainstream, traditional CKD systems.
